Laugh Out Loud Funny

I seldom laugh out when reading novels but I did with this one as well as with the first book. It may be a little rude and crude but it's done in such a tongue in cheek manner that I never felt it was too over the top even though some of the things that Garran does in his debauchery are quite bizarre. The quick fire insults traded with his friends are also at times very funny.
It's also different kind of fantasy in that even though Garran is another "hero" with a rare ability, most of his achievements are due to meticulous planning and out-thinking his opponents.
I can highly recommend this book to anyone that appreciates a different kind of hero and enjoys a good laugh. BTW I only give out 5 stars to something I think is really exceptional - 4 is a very enjoyable read and a page turner.

Not your typical fantasy

A unique fantasy novel. The same but totally different. The characters are not your typical. Bewarned, the novel is not for young children. Alot of juvenile jokes but with an adult theme. Several times I thought it would change over to your typical fantasy, but suddenly the character would do something funny or unexpected.

I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this book! Garran is easily one of the most endearingly obnoxious characters I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Yes, some of the humor is childish. Yes, some of it will offend people. Despite, or maybe because of, this I haven't laughed so hard in years. Please let there be a third book.
